Friday last week I had a meeting with Thorbjørn Petersen, who is a business analyst at Danske Bank. We talked about modeling business processes at a high level (ASIS and TOBE processes) and if the ideas implemented in my prototype could be used. The primary idea is to have Domain Specific Modeling Languages for an enterprise or even single business units inside the enterprise.

Thorbjørn found the idea of fitting the modeling language to a particular domain very useful. Especially the visual presentation of the model to a particular domain was apealing to Thorbjørn because his primary purpose with models is to communicate ideas with the actors in the processes. We agreed to keep in touch and I will try to define modeling languages to be used by Danske Bank business analyst to model some real business processes.

Today I presented what has happend the last three month in my project for my 1. and 2. line managers and the architect of Danske Banks workflow management project. I also presented my two prototype tools, the ADModeler and ADSpecialiser and used them for creating a Domain Specific Language for modelling processes in a family and I used the tool to concretely model the process of getting home from work.

In the last three month I have managed to make the two prototype tools, follow the Academic Writing PhD course at ITU, attend the ECMDA conference in Nuremberg and write an article about my tools. The article is still in progress and is planned finised in the end of january.

There where great interest for my tools at todays presentation and we decided that I should try to use my tool at some real business problems and analyse strength and weaknesss. It goes very well with the suggestion from Czarnecki from yesterdays meeting. So I look forward to make some empirical work using my tools
